Big River Steel

Located in Mississippi County, Arkansas, Big River Steel is a $1.3 billion steel mill on approximately 1,300 acres. Bordered to the east by the Mississippi River with direct water access, and bordered to the west by a main line railroad operated by BNSF. This region is the fastest growing steel consuming region in the United States with a production capability of 1.6 million tons per year.

Designed to produce a full range of high-strength, lightweight steels, wide and thick steels, and electrical steels for key niche markets. Big River Steel will also be the first flat-rolled flex mill combining the best of integrated mills and mini mills with a unique combination of equipment including RH Degasser and higher temperature tunnel furnace to produce more-demanding steel grades. Big River Steel will be the only low carbon and low nitrogen mill in the country. It will also be able to achieve grades previously only available via integrated mills.
